Description
Rose Tree Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been restored and extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is clad in red brick at the bottom, with the frame exposed above and infilled with brick and render. The rear of the cottage has cladding made of Bargate stone rubble and brick. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles, featuring end gablets and ridge cresting. The cottage is positioned at right angles to the street and has a large chimney stack at the rear right. It is one storey high with an attic, which includes two gabled dormers at the center. The front has four framed bays with curved bracing on the first floor and four ground floor windows, one of which is located in a pentice extension on the left. There are 20th-century doors at the right end, leading into a brick porch.
