Description

This is a house located at 131 Binscombe Lane, built in the early 19th century, featuring roof timbers that date back to the 15th century or earlier. The structure is made of red brick laid in Flemish bond and has a plain tile roof. It is two storeys high and consists of two bays, with an added rear range that is not of special interest. The house has a plinth and a central wooden door framed with a three-light window to the left and a two-light window to the right. Above, there are two two-light windows, all of which have segmental brick arches and windows with four-pane lights. The feet of the old rafters are visible at the eaves, and there is a stack at the left end. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have smoke-blackened, coupled rafters with high-set pegged collars. This building is included for its group value.
