Description

The walls surrounding the former Quaker burial ground, likely built in the mid-17th century, are made of galleted rubblestone. They enclose a rectangular area with an entrance on the south-west side, although the eastern part of this wall has been removed. The walls stand approximately 1.5 metres tall and feature domed, oversailing coping. Brick jambs are present at the entrance and at the corners. Some sections of the wall have collapsed or been rebuilt. This burial ground was in use by the Quakers from 1659 to 1790, as noted on a plaque attached to the wall.
