Description
Mellersh Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, which was refaced in the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. It has a timber frame clad in coursed Bargate stone with brick dressings, and some sides are finished with blue brick. The house features hipped plain tiled roofs and stands two storeys high, with a central ridge stack and additional stacks at the rear. The front has brick angle quoins and dentilled eaves. The facade is regular, with metal casement windows: two on the first floor flanking a central blocked panel, and two on the ground floor beneath cambered heads. The central door is also under a cambered head and is set in an open, gabled, half-timbered porch that has ridge cresting.
On the right-hand return front, which was the former entrance, there is a recessed centre under a hipped roof with projecting ends. It has metal casement windows, including two in the centre of the first floor and one to the right. The left-hand return front features a pentice roof, a framed extension, and a projecting brick porch.
