Description

Artington Manor Farm House is a house dating to the late 16th century, with extensions added in the 18th and 19th centuries. The rear and right side are timber-framed and exposed, with red brick infill. The front range is mortar rendered, with ironstone galleting in parts, over sandstone rubble work and brick dressings. It has a plain tiled, half-hipped roof. The original house is to the rear, with a parallel range built across the front and extended at right angles to the rear.

The front of the house is two storeys with boxed eaves. A large rear stack is located to the left, and another to the rear right. There are three three-light first-floor windows with diamond leading under brick heads; two tripartite windows are at ground floor level. A central half-glazed door is set within a panelled reveal and moulded wood surround, with a flat hood supported by brackets.

The left-hand return front features tile hanging on the first floor, above rubble stone. A sash window is present on the left.

The rear has exposed framing on the first floor left, with bracing. Stone cladding is visible on the right, along with a red and blue brick extension, single-storey to the right end. A central porch has a pattern tile roof. Wavy-edge bargeboards adorn the gable over a round-arched entrance with a door under a fanlight.
