Description
Wykehurst Farmhouse is a house located in Ewhurst, originally part of Cranleigh. It dates back to the 16th century, possibly featuring an older core, with late 17th century cross wings added to the front left and left end. The central section is timber framed, with the rear exposed and brick infill, while the front wings are made of Bargate stone. The right side has Bargate stone and brick, with incised cement render and brick quoins on the first floor. The house has plain tiled roofs and is two storeys high, with stacks on the left, rear left, and right end. The right gable has a plinth and string courses above the ground and first floors.
On the first floor, there are two leaded casement windows under gauged brick heads, while the ground floor originally had two windows, but one is now blocked. A three-light window is located on the first floor to the left, between the cross wing and the central wing. The wing features leaded windows, including one two-light and two single-light windows on the first floor, and one single-light and one two-light window on the ground floor. The right return wall has three first floor windows and one ground floor window. There is a door on the ground floor of the left end wing, and an angle bay porch at ground level to the right in the re-entrant angle with the wing.
