Description
This is a barn located to the rear of High Canfold Farm House, dating from the late 16th century, though it has a renewed roof. The structure is timber framed and features weatherboard cladding with a plain tiled, half-hipped roof that extends down in a catslide over a front extension. The barn consists of four framed bays and has a gabled midstrey positioned to the right of the center, which is half-blocked. Inside, there are arch bracing and jowled posts in the left corner, along with heavy bracing to the main posts. The roof is designed with queen struts and was originally constructed with clasped purlins, although part of it has been replaced and includes some wind bracing.
