Description

Haslehurst is a possibly 15th-century house that has been restored and enlarged. The original structure was a two-bay open hall with end bays. The older part of the building is two storeys high and features two windows, with the first floor tiled hung and brick below. It has a high-pitched, long-hipped tiled roof with gablets and an off-centre stack. The windows have been replaced with modern casements. Inside, the house displays square timber-framing with large braces, particularly noticeable on the slightly cambered tie beam of the main truss. The roof is of a transitional type, incorporating both central posts and side purlins. There have been significant additions made in the 19th century.
