Description

Sheering Hall is a 15th-century house that has undergone significant alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is timber-framed and plastered, with a painted brick facade, and has a red plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high and features three gables, two large and one small, centrally placed. There are three windows across the front, with 20th-century leaded casements. Two-storey bay windows with flat roofs flank the central gable. 16th-century red brick chimney stacks are present, some of which have been partially rebuilt. Internally, much of the original 15th-century timber frame remains, including moulded joists, arch braced tie beams, and crown post roofs. Good 18th-century detailing can be seen, such as the staircase, doors, and cupboards.
