Description

Number 33A is a small 19th-century house built against a garden wall that also faces numbers 1 to 9 Lowndes Buildings. The house is one storey high with two windows, featuring a brick front, a tile roof, and a decorative brick cornice with dentils. A cusped bargeboard adorns the east gable end. To the east of the main house is a smaller, recessed addition with a single door and window.

The garden wall itself is likely from the 19th century and is primarily constructed of red brick, with sections incorporating flint and brick lacing courses. A higher section of the wall adjoins number 33A, incorporating the roof tiles and dentil eaves cornice of that building. Towards the south-west end, the wall is lower, divided into bays by brick pilasters and topped with a rendered coping. The wall is an integral part of a group of listed buildings including numbers 1 to 9 Lowndes Buildings on Castle Street's west side.
