Description

This is an early 19th-century building with a timber-frame core. It is two storeys high. The front facade is painted red brick set upon a painted stucco plinth, with a slate roof. There are three windows on the first floor, set within architrave frames, without glazing bars. The ground floor has two similar windows and a four-panel door to the right. The door is topped by a plain rectangular fanlight, surrounded by an architrave, engaged Doric columns, and an entablature. The building forms a group with numbers 1 to 9 Lowndes Buildings on the west side of Castle Street.
