Description

31 Castle Street is a mid-19th century building of three storeys. Constructed of stucco, it features vermiculated quoins, a moulded cornice, and a blocking course. The roof is slate-covered. The upper floor has two windows, while the ground floor has one, along with a four-panel door with a panelled side light and rectangular top light, all contained within a wide surround. The ground floor and first-floor windows, as well as the door, are accentuated by a cornice resting on console brackets above. It is part of a group of listed buildings which includes numbers 1 to 9, Lowndes Buildings, on the west side of Castle Street, and contributes to the group value of the area.
