Description
The boundary wall to Heroncourt along Ford Lane and the southern part of Aveley Lane is a Grade II listed structure. The eastern section dates from the 18th century or early 19th century, while the western part was built around 1900.
The eastern section features an L-shaped wall made of coursed ironstone at the base, with a mix of red and yellow bricks above arranged in header bond at the corner. It is topped with a sloping tiled cap. At the corner, there are two brick piers from circa 1900, which have gabled stone caps and flank a vehicle entrance. At the western end, there is a mid-20th century cast iron letter box set in a projecting brick surround.
The western section consists of a low red brick wall with a stone coping and plain cast iron railings. It includes end brick piers and two pedestrian entrances that are flanked by brick and stone piers. The eastern entrance features stone ball finials and 20th-century cast iron gates.
