Description
The boundary wall, dating from the late 18th century, is constructed of coursed blue lias rubble with brick and ashlar dressings, featuring a projecting drip and rubble coping. It stands approximately 2 meters high and extends about 25 meters along the north side of Westfield Lane and approximately 400 meters along the west side of Low Street, reaching a point opposite The Chestnuts.
To the south, the wall includes four triangular-headed gabled rustic openings with rustic work gates. To the north, there is a 19th-century gateway made of brick, featuring a chamfered arched opening that contains a close-boarded door. Further along, another 19th-century gateway, also of brick, has a central pointed arched opening with a close-boarded door set within an ashlar-coped pedimented recess. This gateway is flanked by square brick piers topped with pyramidal ashlar caps. The wall is included for its group value only.
