Description
The Fox Public House is a tall 19th-century, two-storey brick building that has been built onto an older L-shaped two-storey structure. The rear wing, which runs from the northeast to the southwest, is timber-framed and dates from the 16th to 17th century. The north front features square panels of timber-framing with diagonal braces, and the in-filling is painted brick, as is the lower section. The roof is covered with old tiles and has a half-hipped design, with a pentice on the south side. There is a cross-wing that runs parallel to the 19th-century addition, extending southwards at the west end, and a lean-to addition at the south end that is contiguous with the south pentice of the timber-framed wing. The building has one two-light casement window above and below, as well as two windows in the lean-to annexe at the south end.
