Description
The south boundary wall to Honeywood Museum, along with its gateways, dates from the 18th to 19th century, with some later repairs. It is constructed of red brick topped with dark blue brick coping and includes a gateway. A late 19th-century red brick section extends northward from the southeast corner, divided into four bays by brick pilasters with capping. There is a moulded course and a recessed panel in the lower part of the wall. In the second bay from the south, there is a two-centred stone gateway featuring a wooden door.
The Honeywood Museum and its wall are part of a group that includes The Gate House, a road bridge, Leoni bridge, a culvert, and retaining walls to Carshalton Ponds, as well as No 1 High Street and the entrance gates to The Grove on the north side of High Street. This group also encompasses Anne Boleyn's Well, St Mary's, Madeley Cottage in Church Hill, and several items on the south side of High Street, including the Greyhound Inn, the wall to the east of the Greyhound, the Church of All Saints, the north churchyard wall, and No 6 High Street.
