Description

The garden walls to Notre Dame Convent School date from the 18th century. They feature a sandstone plinth with a red and blue brick wall above, topped with brick on edge coping. The walls are approximately 350 feet long and 6 feet high, reducing to 5 feet in the center of the front. On either side of the front, there are square brick piers about 7 feet high, which have stone capitals and sphere finials, although the finial is missing on the left. The wall returns at a right angle at the right end, featuring an arched opening in the angle. There is a larger galleted sandstone plinth with brick above, extending back about 90 feet.
