Description
The garden wall, approximately 30 metres long, is located to the west of Nos 1 and 2 Churchyard and south of the remains of the south transept. It dates from the 18th century to early 19th century and is constructed of flint rubble, banded with four courses of ashlar blocks, and backed by a random mix of flint, brick, and stone. The wall is divided into bays by four square pilasters, which feature white brick fronts with knapped flint panels and stone tops, backed by ashlar blocks. There are two pointed doorways, one of which is blocked. Additionally, a low bay extending to the garden gate of the house called 'Abbey Precincts' is topped by a row of cast-iron spearhead railings.
