Description

The Barn is a building that began as a barn, dating from the 16th century on the right side and with the remainder dating from the 17th century, remodelled in the 19th century. It is timber framed and sits upon a rubblestone plinth, with rendered infill above and a plain tiled roof. The ends have weatherboarded gables. The barn has two storeys and a rectangular plan of three framed bays, with four diamond-pane leaded casements across the first floor and three below. A part-glazed door is located in a single-storey, 19th-century projecting range on the left side, featuring a thin applied timber frame. A flat-roofed porch, with rustic angle posts, is also present. There is brick infill to a timber-framed pent roof extension to the right end. The barn was formerly associated with Pollard House.
