Description

The garden wall to New Place is a 17th-century structure built of coursed sandstone blocks with a flat, two-step coping. The wall is approximately 7 feet high and extends for 33 yards along the west side, parallel to the house. It returns to the north and south for approximately 31 yards each, with a square pier at the south-east corner featuring a moulded capital. Along the west wall are square rusticated stone piers with moulded capitals and sphere finials, located to the right of the centre.
