Description

Pepys Vault is located 20 yards northeast of the east end of the Church of St. Peter in Tandridge. This vault, dedicated to the Pepys family, was built around 1845. It is constructed of stone and sits on a stepped stone plinth with a moulded base. The structure is rectangular and approximately 6 feet high, featuring a square quatrefoil band at the base and Tudor-style arched panels on the sides. The hipped lid has a moulded edge with roll moulding along the ridge.
