Description
The Pembroke Vault, located 6 metres north of the vestry of the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Sunbury-on-Thames, is a chest tomb dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of stone set on a stone plinth, which features an iron railed surround. The plinth is stepped with a moulded base above it. The sides of the tomb have fielded panels with recessed angles, and there is a fluted panel in a gadrooned socket. The lid is made of a darker grey stone and has a moulded lip. The railings are spear-headed and include urn finials on the angle standards and centre standards on the north and south sides.
