Description

The Old Vicarage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of brown brick and features hipped roofs covered with plain tiles. The building has two storeys, with moulded wooden eaves cornices and chimney stacks at both ends. It has an L-shaped plan, with a central block that projects towards the street and an old entrance located to the left at a right angle.

On the street elevation, there are three 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows on the first floor, and two sash windows below them, which are set under cambered gauged-brick heads. There is also one blocked window on the ground floor. To the left, there is a 9-pane first floor sash window in a lower linking bay, with a door featuring six fielded panels below it, framed by a moulded surround and topped with a tracery fanlight.

On the right-hand return front, there are two blocked windows on both the first and ground floors. The left-hand return front has a break that projects to the left, featuring one 12-pane glazing-bar sash window on the ground floor to the right. There is a set-back range to the left with a tall first floor sash window above a door with six recessed panels, framed by a pilaster surround and topped with a flat, modillioned hood. At the rear, there is an angle bay to the left with 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows, with one window on each floor in each face.
