Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located on the west side of the High Street in Lingfield. It is timber-framed and built on a rendered plinth. The upper section exhibits square framing with thin timbers, while the ground floor is brick-clad and the remainder is whitewashed. Rendered infill is present elsewhere. The roof is tiled and hipped at the left end, with a double end stack to the right. The cottage has two storeys and two framed bays, with an irregular arrangement of windows. A single three-light casement window is located on the first floor to the right, and two casements are present on the ground floor. A planked door is positioned to the left of the centre, sheltered by an open-gabled timbered porch. A catslide roof extends to the rear. The interior includes visible ceiling frames and a deep brick fireplace.
