Description

Old Farthingdale House is a house, originally dating from the 17th century, with a 20th-century extension to the right. The left-hand portion is timber framed with a rubble stone plinth, featuring exposed square framing and colourwashed infill. The right-hand return front is tile hung. The right-hand side has colourwashed brick at ground level, with a timber frame of thin scantling and rendered infill above. The roof is tiled, with a double square stack at the end of the ridge to the left. The house is two storeys high and has four bays, exhibiting irregular casement window placement; four windows are visible on the first floor. The ground floor has three leaded casement windows, and a glazed door is positioned to the right of the centre. A 20th-century range extends from the right-hand centre. A single four-light arched head leaded casement window is present on the first floor to the left, along with a 20th-century four-light diamond-pane casement to the right. A pent roof verandah, supported by braced wooden posts, covers the ground floor. An arched wooden door is located on the left-hand side. A brick and tile hung wing is situated to the rear left.
