Description

The Terrace is a house built in 1808 by John Saunders, with 20th-century alterations to the front. It is constructed of brown brick with gault brick dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The building has three storeys set on a plinth, with a plat band above the ground floor and boxed eaves, and chimney stacks located at the front center.

The house has four bays, with a square extension at the ground floor that projects under a hipped roof. It includes glazing bar sash windows throughout, which are shallower on the second floor and set under gault brick heads. There are one-bay extensions at both ends, each with a boarded door accessed by a flight of eight steps to the left. The house has three bay return fronts.

Originally, this house was divided and is part of a terrace that was provided for Officers of the Royal Military Academy.
