Description
The Terrace is a house built in 1808 by John Saunders, with 20th-century alterations to the front. It is constructed of brown brick with gault brick dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The building has three storeys set on a plinth, with a plat band over the ground floor and boxed eaves, along with stacks positioned at the front center.
The house consists of four bays and includes a square, almost full-width ground floor extension that projects under a flat roof. It has glazing bar sash windows throughout, which are shallower on the second floor and set under gault brick heads. There is a one bay extension at each end and a boarded door located on the right-hand side. The house has three bay return fronts.
Originally, this house was divided and is part of a terrace that was built for Officers of the Royal Military Academy.
