The Terrace

The Terrace is a house built in 1808 by John Saunders, featuring 20th-century alterations to the front. It is constructed of brown brick with gault brick dressings and has a hipped slate roof. The building stands three storeys high on a plinth and includes a plat band over the ground floor and boxed eaves, with stacks located at the front center. The house has four bays, with a square extension that almost spans the full width of the ground floor, projecting under a flat roof. It has glazing bar sash windows throughout, which are shallower on the second floor and set under gault brick heads. There is a one bay extension at each end and a boarded door on the left-hand side. The house was formerly divided and is part of a terrace of houses that were provided for Officers of the Royal Military Academy.
