Description

The entrance gates to Castle Hill date from the early 19th century. They feature four white painted gate piers, with the inner piers topped by cast iron columns and lanterns. The gates are made of massive wood, designed with square panels and diagonal braces, and include double top and bottom rails. Each gate has a sphere with a fleur-de-lys cresting on the top rail. Additionally, there is a trellis flanking fence that follows a quadrant plan.
