Staplehurst Farm House

Staplehurst Farm House is a house dating from the 15th century, which was extended to the right in the late 16th century with an inserted stack, and has Victorian additions to the rear. The building features a timber frame on a stone plinth, with red and brown brick below and tile hanging above. It has a plain tiled roof that is half hipped over a crosswing to the right, with a large corbelled stack positioned to the right of center. This former hall house has two storeys and an attic, with a hip front.

The right wing has three 19th-century casement windows across the first floor, with the outer windows featuring diamond panes. There is a camber-headed window on the ground floor to the left. To the left, there is a planked, part-glazed door set in a 19th-century gabled porch that has bargeboarding and double doors.

Inside, the framing is visible, showcasing stop-chamfered joists and deep fireplaces, including a bread oven to the left. A large cambered tie beam can be found in the first-floor room.
