Description
Hale Farm House is a 16th-century house located in Nutfield. It features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with square panel and close framing that is exposed, and brick infill. The house has deep wooden eaves and a plain tiled roof at the front, while the rear is covered with Horsham slabs and some tile patches. There are triple diagonal end stacks to the left with oversailing tops, and a multiple corbelled ridge stack at the center, along with additional stacks at the rear. The building is two storeys high and consists of five framed bays, with 19th-century casement windows arranged in a regular pattern. To the left, there is a half-glazed door with flanking lights, situated under a flat porch supported by square wooden piers with moulded capitals. At the rear, there is a catslide roof extension featuring three tiers of dormers, mostly gabled, and a glazed porch to the left. Inside, the timber framing is visible, including the ceiling and wall partitioning.
