Description
The garden wall to the south and west of Hamme House dates from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and restoration in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick in English bond and has a rectangular plan, measuring 60 feet long on the west side and 100 feet long on the west wall. The south wall runs approximately 160 feet to the east, while the east wall is about 60 feet long. The wall features a mixed mortar and brick coping set on edge. It stands 6 feet high on the west and south sides, rising to 7 feet in some areas. There are arched gateways located at the north-west corner on the west wall and at the north-east corner.
