Description

Kings Mill House is a house dating back to the 16th century, with extensions added in the 18th century to the rear right side, and 20th-century alterations. The front of the house is timber framed with whitewashed brick infill. The wing to the rear is constructed of galleted sandstone with brick above. The roof is tiled, with a corbelled square ridge stack to the left of the centre, an offset end stack to the right, and another square ridge stack to the right on the rear wing. The house is two storeys high, with four framed bays on the front, featuring 20th-century diamond-pane leaded casement windows. A 20th-century angle bay window rises through two floors on the right side. A central gabled porch with bargeboards, dating from the 19th century, rises through two floors and contains arched doubled plank doors. The right-hand return front displays three casement windows on the first floor and blocked, irregular fenestration to the ground floor, which is covered by brick relieving arches.
