Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Trigg Street is a house that has been extended and divided. It dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with a 20th-century extension on the right. The building features a timber frame with square panels and brick infill on a rendered plinth. The upper part has cement infill to the centre and left, while the right extension is made of colourwashed brick and tile-hung sections, some arranged in a fishscale pattern. The roofs are plain tiled and step down to the right. The house has two storeys and four framed bays, with arched bracing visible on the first floor. There is a square, corbelled stack located to the left of centre on the original range. The first floor includes five diamond-pane leaded casement windows and one four-light mullioned window on the right. There are four windows on the ground floor, with one window on each floor of the extension to the right, and two first-floor windows on the right-hand return front. The doors are located to the left of centre for no. 1 and to the right for no. 2. The building has a smoke bay plan with straight windbracing in the roof.
