Description

Nos. 15 and 17 Moor Lane is a house that has been divided into two properties. It dates back to the 16th century and was reworked in the 19th century. The building features a substantial close-studded timber framed structure. The main block is encased in 19th-century brick with colourwashed render, while the cross-wing has its ground floor rebuilt in 19th-century brick with colourwashed render, exposing the framing on the first floor with colourwashed plaster infill. The roofs are covered with clay tiles. The building has a T-plan layout and includes one storey with attics, and the cross-wing jetties to the rear. There are 20th-century one-storey and attic extensions on both the right-hand and left-hand sides.

For No. 15 (the main block), there are two ground floor windows and three gabled dormers, all featuring 20th-century casements with glazing bars. A 20th-century door is located on the right-hand side, and there are garage doors in the left-hand bay. A red brick double ridge stack is present. For No. 17 (the right-hand cross-wing), there is one sash window on each floor and a 20th-century plank door on the left-hand side. The rear jetty has a moulded fascia board, and a 20th-century addition on the right-hand side includes garage doors at ground level and a gabled dormer in the attic. A red brick chimney stack is located on the right side of the cross-wing wall. Inside, the cross-wing retains a moulded beam in the ground room.
