Description

A group of three cottages, dating from the earlier 18th century, is located at The Knoll, Mauldens. The cottages are timber-framed with red brick infill, and some areas are rendered, particularly at number 9. They have thatched roofing to number 9, with clay tiles elsewhere. The arrangement is in an L-shape, and the cottages are one storey in height with attics. The windows are a variety of casement types. Three eyebrow dormers are visible on the south elevation of the main block. The cottages feature part-glazed doors, and a variety of red brick ridge and gable end stacks are present.
