Description
No. 50 George Street is a house that was originally a pair of cottages, dating from the 18th century. It features colourwashed roughcast over a timber frame and has a thatched roof. The building has a three-room layout, is one storey high with attics, and was extended to the northeast in the 20th century in a similar style.
On the south elevation, there is a variety of casement windows, mostly with two lights, all small paned and fitted with glazing bars. The elevation also includes two eyebrow dormers. The right-hand bay of the original block has a plank door, while the doorway on the left-hand side has been blocked. There are two red brick ridge stacks. The southwest gable end features similar casement windows on both the ground floor and in the attic, and the roof is half-hipped.
