Description
White Gates is a house, originally a row of cottages, dating from the 18th century. The building is timber-framed and incorporates colourwashed brick infill and colourwashed roughcast render. It has a thatched roof. The house was originally planned around four rooms, with the western portion being one storey and attics, and the eastern portion two storeys, both sharing the same roofline. The south elevation features a variety of casement windows, mostly with glazing bars, four to each floor. Two dormers are present on the left-hand side. There are three blocked doorways, and a plank door on the right-hand side, with a bracketed sloping hood. The roof is punctuated by two red brick ridge stacks and two red brick gable end stacks.
