Description

Simons is a house dating from the mid-16th century, with possible earlier origins, and features 19th and 20th-century extensions on the right. It has a timber frame set on a rendered plinth, with brick infill to the left, grey/blue and brown brick underbuild in the center, and brown brick to the right. The first floor is tile hung, except for the exposed frame infill in the center and left. The roof is plain tiled, hipped with a gablet to the left. The building has a T-shaped plan with a wing on the right. The wing is two storeys tall, while the center has one storey and an attic. There is a multiple stack to the right of the center. The center features one gabled dormer and two 3-light diamond-pane windows on the ground floor, both under drip boards. There is one window on each floor to the right, with the first-floor window located under a tiled hood supported by braces. A 20th-century gabled porch is situated to the right of the center at the junction with the wing. The left-hand return front has two gabled dormers.
