Description
Grubbs Farm House is a house dating from the late 16th century, with 17th-century extensions to the right and 20th-century extensions to the rear. It features a timber frame on a stone plinth, with brick cladding on the right side and tile hanging above on the first floor to the right. The left side has whitewashed render infill. The roof is plain tiled with ridge stacks located to the left and right of the center. The main front of the house is positioned at right angles to the road and consists of two storeys, a basement in the cross wing to the right, and an attic above in the gable. The front has four framed bays with five leaded casement windows on the first floor. There is a part-glazed door to the right of center, set in an open gable porch supported by wooden posts. A 20th-century addition is located at the front left. The right-hand return front, which faces the street, has two framed bays with square panel framing, a central leaded dormer, and two leaded casements on each floor. There is a central ribbed door in a gable porch, along with a pent roof extension at the right end.
