Description

Whitehouse Farmhouse is a house dating to the late 16th century, with extensions added in the 18th century. It is timber-framed, set on a brick plinth, with whitewashed brick cladding below and exposed square panel framing with brick infill above. The roof is tiled, featuring a large triple ridge stack to the left of centre. The house is two storeys high, with five framed bays. The first floor has three casement windows, with leaded glass, while the ground floor has 20th-century metal casement windows. A planked door is located to the left of centre, sheltered by a gabled brick porch; the left-hand return front has a tile-hung gable with a band of diagonally laid bricks at the base. A single-storey red and blue brick wing extends to the right of the rear elevation. Inside, the framing is visible, with rendered infill to the walls and ceiling frames.
