Description
Toby Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with 20th-century extensions at the rear. It features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with brick infill, and has a plain tiled hipped roof with gablets and a rear ridge stack positioned to the right of center. The cottage is designed in the Wealden style, with the main front facing the rear. It has two storeys and five framed bays, with the outer ground floor bays underbuilt. On the first floor, there are three leaded casement windows. To the right, there is a pent roof porch with a ribbed door on the left side. The left return front shows a jettied first floor supported by brackets, with close studding exposed. The wings at the rear are tile hung and rendered.
