Description
Damson Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid-16th century, with 20th-century extensions added to the front right. It features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with some sandstone footings. The lower part is underbuilt in brown and blue brick, while the exposed frame above is filled with whitewashed brick. The roof is half-hipped and covered with plain tiles, and there are brick and tile hung extensions. The cottage stands two storeys high with four framed bays and a central chimney bay. It has three windows on the first floor and five casement windows on the ground floor. The entrance is a central plank door located in a 20th-century brick gable porch, which is accessed by two steps. The 20th-century extensions project at right angles to the front right of the building.
