Description
Abinger Mill is a 17th-century house located on Abinger Lane in Abinger. The building features a timber frame that is exposed at the rear, with brick infilling. The front is clad in brick, while the right-hand return front is made of sandstone blocks. The left-hand return front is tile hung, and the roof is plain tiled. The house is two storeys high and has a central chimney.
On the first floor, there are four diamond-pane leaded casement windows, with the window on the left being from the 20th century. There is also a small leaded window in the center. The ground floor has five windows, with an angle buttress to the left. To the left, there is a casement door, and in the center, a ribbed and studded door leads to a lobby entry. A framed pentice extends across the left-hand return front and to the rear right of center. There is a 20th-century brick wing at an angle to the rear right. The internal framing is exposed, particularly on the ground floor ceiling.
