Description
Icknield is a house dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill, some of which is also from the 17th century. The plinth is partly rendered and partly made of flint. The roof is covered with old tiles and has a chimney with grouped shafts located between the right bays. The building is L-shaped with a staircase projection at the rear angle. It is two stories tall and has three bays. The windows are diamond leaded casements, with two-light windows in the first floor of the center bays and three-light windows in the remainder. The right bay has a gabled front and small blocked 17th-century windows on the ground floor. To the right of the center bay, there is a board door topped with a 19th-century gabled hood supported by long timber brackets. Inside the cross wing, there is a moulded and stopped spine beam.
