Description
Pitstone Green Farmhouse is a house dated 1830, built by Jas. Hawkins. It features pale chequer brick construction, a hipped slate roof, deep boarded eaves, and symmetrical brick chimneys. The building is double pile, with two storeys and an attic, and consists of two bays. The north front has a central half-glazed door with a similar window above it, along with another window in a hipped dormer. The left bay is irregular, featuring a low three-light horizontal sash window for the dairy and two-light sashes above for the mezzanine and first floor. To the right, there is a single-storey extension that includes a four-light sash window, three boarded doors—one leading to poultry racks and a smaller boarded door for ducks. This farmhouse was originally part of a model farm and is now part of the Pitstone Green Farm Museum. It is included for its group value.
