Description

This is a barn located 20 metres to the northwest of Wix Farm House, dating from the early 16th century and extended in the 18th century. It has a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with weatherboard cladding over brick lower walls and a pentice extension at the front. The barn features a steeply pitched plain tiled hipped roof that extends in a catslide to the front left over the stables. It consists of five framed bays, including one 18th-century bay on the right. There is a central full-height throughway under the hipped roof, with a projection at the rear. Inside, the barn has windbracing in the central bay, jowled posts, and arched bracing on the walls, along with a queen strut roof. The end bay on the right is floored.
