Description

Inglenook, Rosendene, and The Green is a house that has been extended and divided. It dates from the 16th century, with a late 17th-century cross wing and 20th-century alterations. The building features a timber frame that is exposed, with colourwashed brick infill to the right of the center, red brick infill to the left of the center, and red brick with blue brick headers on the cross wing to the left. The roofs are plain tiled and step up to the left end. The structure is two storeys to the left, one storey and an attic in the center, and two storeys to the right. There is a ridge stack to the left and a large ridge stack to the center right. A plat band runs over the ground and first floors of the left-hand gable bay, which has end bracing to the center. The windows are mixed and irregular, including one 3-light leaded casement under a gauged brick head on the first floor to the left, and two more at the eaves on the first floor. There are two square bays that rise through both floors, gabled, with one 3-light casement on each floor to the right. A ground floor window is set under a segmental pediment. The left side features a studded door and a gabled porch, with a flanking ground floor casement to the left (Rosendene). The center has a part-glazed door in a timber porch (The Green), and there is a further door on the left-hand return front (The Inglenook).
