Description
Inglenook House and The Cottage is a house that has been divided into two, originally built in the 17th century with later alterations and a 20th-century extension. The building features a three-cell cross-passage plan and stands two storeys high. The front has three first-floor windows on the left side, with a single window on the right due to the extension, which is not of special interest.
The left side, known as Inglenook House, has a central gabled single-storey porch with a board door. The windows are side-sliding sash types, mostly with three lights, except for a two-light window above the porch. It also has a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping on the left side. The house has large stepped end stacks, with the left stack being external and made of brick.
On the right side, known as The Cottage, there is a board door to the left and three-light side-sliding sash windows. The right side features a raised verge and a brick end stack. On the left return of Inglenook House, there are blocked single-light windows with chamfered surrounds on the first floor and in the gable.
