Description

Sundial Cottage and Rose Cottage are two houses dating from the mid to late 18th century. They are constructed of coursed rubble with a pantile roof and stone slates at the eaves. The buildings are two storeys high and feature a symmetrical arrangement of windows on the first floor, with two windows for each cottage.

Sundial Cottage, located on the left, is made of coursed rubble and has quoins on the left side. It has a central board door set in an ashlar surround, with a sundial displayed on a lozenge-shaped plaque above the door. The cottage features 4-pane sash windows beneath deep stone lintels and has ashlar coping on the left side, with brick stacks at the ends.

Rose Cottage, on the right, is built of rubble. It has a board door on the left, which is framed by a segmental-arched ashlar surround with imposts. Above this door, there is a 4-pane sash window also in an ashlar surround. To the right, there is one bay of 4-pane sash windows, with a brick stack at the end.
